October Photo: climbing plant

When we found this plant on a wall in our accommodation, the system it has for anchoring itself to the wall and climbing up it caught our attention. Also, being an autumn day, the leaves were gorgeously colored and the cloudy sky provided a soft light, perfect for showing off details.

A tripod, a macro lens and a lot of composition effort, and in the end we got this image.

May photo: butterfly on flower

In spring we always go out to do macro photography, and nothing is more beautiful and elegant than butterflies. I really like this Olympus lens for the smooth bokeh it offers and because it allows me to keep a good distance between the camera and the subject.

April photo: watercolour effect

Modern digital cameras have functions that can sometimes be interesting. In this case we were in a coastal town in Asturias and it occurred to me to use the watercolor effect for this scene. Some may not like to apply these effects but it is something additional in our arsenal of tools that can be useful in certain cases.

January photo: snowfall in Madrid

On January 8 and 9, 2021 we had a great snowfall in Madrid, the largest in the last 50 years. About 50cm of snow covered the streets, cars, buildings. Everything was covered by a white blanket, and the usual activity was interrupted. We took the opportunity to go out to photograph the event, taking due precautions as many trees did not withstand the snow and suffered the breaking of their branches.
